The beginnings of Progressive Insulation & Windows

President Anderson first talked about a bit of history. He mentions that at age 25, back in 1978, he was interested in helping his father grow his business, so he was inspired to start Progressive Insulation & Windows. His father had worked as an insulation contrator and had manufactured cellulose.

Energy efficiency and comfort

Then Ben Shapiro and President Anderson moved on to talk about energy efficiency and comfort. Shapiro mentioned that energy efficiency is a catch phrase that’s thrown around a lot, but asked President Anderson, what does it really mean? President Anderson explained that energy efficiency is closely related to comfort in a home. That’s because when a home is fully energy efficient, it will be much quieter, and the temperature in the home will be much more evenly distributed. This is especially important for those who have little kids who are always playing on the floor. When a home isn’t insulated properly, those floors become awfully cold.

Energy Upgrade California

The conversation eventually turned to talking about Energy Upgrade California, a government-sponsored utility program that provides financial incentives for anyone who’s considering making their home more energy efficient.
